Ads Manager Beta for ChatGPT

News

OpenAI launches Ads Manager Beta for ChatGPT 🚀

The first native platform, which allows brands to place adverts directly within ChatGPT responses, has launched at ads.openai.com. First, the bad news: Ads Manager is not yet available in Germany or across the wider DACH region. OpenAI currently notes that access is only enabled in selected countries and that availability is set to be expanded gradually.
It is not yet clear when the rollout for Europe will take place. However, due to regulatory requirements such as the GDPR and the EU AI Act, the launch in the European market could take longer than in the US.

💡 Why you STILL need to look into this now:
The structure OpenAI is introducing now lays the foundation for all future advertising formats in ChatGPT. Anyone who understands the principle today will secure a real competitive advantage when the official EU rollout takes place.

Key insights from OpenAI’s official quick-start video:

  • Setup in Ads Manager: Management is handled centrally via the OpenAI Ads Manager Beta. Before launching, billing, verification and brand elements (logo/name) must be set up.
  • “Context Hints” instead of keywords: Forget traditional Google keywords or meta-audiences. At ad group level, you use text blocks (Context Hints) to describe the type of conversation in which your ad might be relevant.
  • Reporting is currently still very limited: The Ads Manager Beta currently offers mainly basic KPIs such as impressions, clicks, CTR, CPC, CPM, spend and conversions. Advanced audience insights, attribution tools or granular audience analyses are not yet available.

Our conclusion: We are extremely excited to see the first results from the US. One thing is certain: the time until a potential European rollout should not be seen as a waiting period, but as an opportunity to build up expertise in AI-native advertising models at an early stage.
